Framed Pendant with Natural Contrast: Paua Shell Ngaru

The Ngaru is one of the most exceptional necklaces in our Paua collection. A rectangular, flat silver frame element with a genuine Paua shell inlay. Shimmering yellow, brown, and blue meet clear silver metal. This combination of a geometric setting and vibrant natural material creates a contrast that makes the piece unmistakably unique.

The chain consists of elongated, rectangular links, matching the framed pendant. 40 cm long, with a lobster clasp and extender. The Paua shell only grows on the coasts of New Zealand, and each piece looks different from the last.

Stainless steel, waterproof, rust-free. Handmade in Kiel, Northern Germany. If the frame or chain needs some care after a long time, we'll repair it. That's how we do things.

All our jewelry is waterproof. You can wear our stainless steel necklaces and bracelets when showering, swimming, and in the sea, and water won't harm our silver earrings either.

Handmade in Germany

We craft each of our pieces of jewelry in our small studio in Kiel, and if you'd like to experience how it's done yourself, we offer jewelry workshops throughout Northern Germany.

Free Repair Service

Our jewelry is very repairable. In addition to the statutory warranty, we will cover any repair case within the first 12 months after your order, regardless of whose fault it is – we don't ask questions, we just fix it. You only pay for the return shipping.

Who is behind Salty Dreamers?

We are Fynn & Felize, and that's it. Five years ago, we returned from a trip to New Zealand with a lot of inspiration and the desire to create jewelry with meaning. Since then, we've been making everything in Kiel.

What exactly is the Paua shell?

The Paua shell is a sea snail from New Zealand and belongs to the abalone family. It is known for its exceptionally vibrant colors. No two shells are alike; each is a unique natural specimen. In New Zealand's Māori culture, Paua symbolizes protection and a connection to the sea. We source our shells sustainably and certified from New Zealand and transform the fragments into jewelry by hand. You can find more information here.
